Welcome to the official website of the International Airport Development Company Limited (IADCL). The IADCL is a private limited liability company wholly owned by the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It was incorporated under the Companies Act of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The company's mandate is to spearhead and coordinate all matters relating to the financing and construction of the Argyle International Airport and arranging for the effective management of the airport on its completion. Work on the Argyle International Airport began shortly after the Honourable Prime Minister Dr. Ralph E. Gonsalves's historic speech on August 8th, 2005. In that speech, the Prime Minister sets out the government's commitment to the airport project and how the project is to be financed.
History was created on Thursday November 19, 2015 at the Argyle International Airport when four small aircraft landed there.
The occasion was the testing of the runway approach or Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) Lights carried out by the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA). The purpose of these lights is to ensure the safe landing of aircraft at the Argyle International Airport. According to the Director of ECCAA Mr. Donald Mcphail, the occasion was also used to ensure that the runway was safe for landing not just for the test plane but the other three flights that followed subsequently.
Three batches of Air Traffic Controllers from St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday September 21st 2015, embarked on a refresher course in preparation for the start of operation of the Argyle International Airport.
The training programme which is taking place at the training room of the Argyle International Airport got going with an opening ceremony which heard presentations from officials of the E.T Joshua Airport, the IADC and the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Training Centre.
