Full scale asphalt paving of the Argyle International Airport (AIA) runway got underway on Thursday April 9th, 2015, in the 3rd kilometer of the project.
Coming off the heels of the completion of pavement of the turning heads and the stop ways, attention is now turned to the asphalt paving of the runway.
Three hundred meters of runway on the Northern end have been paved and the focus now is on the Southern side of the runway where six hundred meters of runway have been prepared for asphalting. Meantime, workers continue to place final base layer on the section of the runway in the 2nd kilometer of the project.
Meanwhile, work on the aprons continues to move apace. Pavement of the Commercial Apron is 75% complete, while, the General Aviation Apron is approximately 50% complete.
